A hundred and fifty years after civil war today, human rights in United States is still a hot button that people all over the world are willing to talk about.

Recently, China published a report titled "Human Rights Record of the United States in 2010"(archive.today link) two days after the US State Department’s Report on Human Rights Practices for 2010 on April 8, 2011, which makes people think.

"As in previous years, the (US) reports are full of accusations of the human rights situation in more than 190 countries and regions including China, but turn a blind eye to, or dodge and even cover up rampant human rights abuses on its own territory," said the Information Office of the State Council in its report on the US human rights record.

While Hillary Rodham Clinton, the secretary of state, said during her presentation of the 35th annual report to Congress on the state of human rights around the world that: "The struggle for human rights begins by telling the truth over and over again. And this report represents a year of sustained truth-telling by one of the largest organizations documenting human rights conditions in the world, the United States State Department."

The report for United States mainly talks about the abuse of power, wide spread of violent and trampling upon other countries' sovereignty, human tights.
